Struggling today. I'm finding this one particularly baffling:

16d Flying bats move (2,6)
??,s?i?k?

The letters are right - not many words fit the second one, and none seem to make sense. Any suggestions?

Hi Chrise. I'm new to this forum but been doing crosswords quite a while now. I have the answer to this but wanted to know if you'd prefer a hint rather than the answer?

Thanks too, charleybanger. On thw hole we tend to give hints for prize puzzles, but this isn't a rule.

Cheers. It took me a while to get it. And thanks for the heads up on protocol. I prefer hints, especially for a prize.

If folks want hints only it's customary to say so and this will (usually) be respected.

Struggled through to the end but, unusually for Paul (my favourite setter), not many smiles along the way. It all seemed a little 'forced' to me.

Agree Simon , was like Paul on Mogadon . I do not think I would have finished without the answer given below which energised me to complete the SW corner. Rest was done at that point.

Nice crossword. Easier than last week's Prize, in my opinion, but still satisfyingly challenging.
I can't parse 20ac and 21d though, even if my answers are 100% sure.
