I'm having trouble making sense of these:

"Definitions in nine clues lead to solutions (one of two words, one of three, one hyphenated) that are to be entered in the grid with 7 24 15. Their wordplay and indicated lengths refer to the required grid entries."

What does the "their" in the last sentence refer to?

7 24 16 is clued:
Nowhere is unimportant (7, 4, 3,5)

Can anyone clarify, please?

Hi Chrise. The answer looks like "neither here nor there" . Does that help?

Thanks both - that will help, but I'm still baffled by the special instructions!

For an example, 20d needs the first part of 24ac to make a complete word

Hi,
I'm stuck on my last two clues, both 12s (across and down). One of them is "theme" related and is a 2-word solution, but I can't think of/find/parse any of them.
All hints welcome.

Correction :
I forgot that I'd already found the 2-word solution. The theme-related solution is only one word then
