Tiger moth ?

If the clue actually says "go with the trim adjusted" .

and if it specs. two words

Clue given exactly as written
I thought of tiger moth as 2 words too but also liked it as the plane.

I also have: fish hook (4) b - - -
in that area which could be blay for fish but I know no reason for hook and this word.
It would seem to leave tiger moth in that part of crossword then though?

Ignoring spelling it could be belay as hook but that clue then seems off to me if answer is blay?

the fish hook one could be barb.

Can you clarify barb in relation to fish for me? As a remark I think of a barb as meaner than just fishing.

There are lots of tropical aquarium fish commonly referred to as Barbs. If you google "barb" and go to Wikipedia you can see what I mean.
