Can't get my head around my last two.

SNICKERS or KNICKERS perhaps? I can see nickers for burglars but not the whispering.

ETHOS maybe but I can't see why.

Knickers sounds like nickers.

I think "whispering" might be an odd "sounds like" indicator, so KNICKERS
