The answer is obviously 'luminosity' = lustre (def)
I can see that it is an anagram of 'it' and (o) 'minously' but where does "stops bats" come into it?
Cannot understand! Please explain!

'It' inserted into anagram of ominously (bats = anagram) without the 'o' for old. Et voilà!

and 'stops' = plugs or blocks that anagram

I should have got call = cite, but would never have gone for 'on ' as 'possible'!
