Hi,

Don't understand!

7d It won't go down well with sponge trifle! (5,4)

I know it has been answered as 'small beer', but I am afraid I just don't get it - Can someone explain please?

A sponge can mean a heavy drinker who would likely prefer a large beer. All the best, Rob
