A hint say to Clue 1 Silence Arab writer in Polish (7) would be welcome. Looking at DAMPENS but do not get the Polish connection.

I have all the answers and have them all filled in centripetally where by the oven is at 13D and the other one is at 15D - which I assume is correct following the theme

When it comes to the eight other clues, however, 7 fit properly but my answer to "show up without a prize" which is correct judging by the other posts on this forum (REVEL - it has already been divulged...) ends up going down at 22D i.e. non-centripetally. Shouldn't it read up from 28?

Can somebody help?

There's sound reasoning on this thread earlier - the answer to the clue is Lever, prise/prize, it's entered as Revel, so fits the instructions.

Finished at last!
In my last clue ("finished difficult ...."), it took a long time to dispel "tough" for "difficult!! Once I realised golf was involved, the penny dropped.
