Just, irritatingly, stuck on one which I can't see for looking. (This would have been two, but fortunately Jazzgirl answered one of my queries in responding to someone else.)

12D - Quite a nasty character for a girl (6)

I think all three given letters are correct.........

Nasty character is RAT
for a girl is HER
Together gives RATHER = quite

18 across is STONE ME

Gem is STONE, more hollowed-out is M(or)E

STONE ME = my
