Are you looking for an answer here or do you have an answer and looking for the wordplay?
I don't have the answer but my thoughts are that it may be CROSSBEAM,or as Dr.Spooner would say BOSSCREAM.
A bit vague I know.

What's the answer to clue 9? It's likely that is involved here somehow.
