So .... now we've done all the French knickers and football stuff, can someone tell me what I've done wrong with 26d "eye stuff spilling over suit with amusement" ... for which I'd got "timeworn humour" - which produces an "e" in 34a where I need an "r". Can't find any other word that meets the need,

vitreous humour

anagram of 'over suit' gives 'vitreous' for the first word, followed by 'humour' meaning 'amusement'

The vitreous humour is the clear gel that fills the space between the lens and the retina of the eyeball = eye stuff (def)

Thanks, elle. In a jumbo that seemed very simple - especially after the excruciatingly difficult 1154 - this answer required a very advanced level of knowledge in a specialised subject. Perhaps you're an eye specialist .... or just more knowledgeable than me. That's not hard to achieve!
