Who can help me with this one:

15d Someone like Cratchit an assistant in swan-upping?
(3-6)

I know Cratchit is a Dickens character but that does not seem to help me!

Bob Cratchit was a clerk = pen-pusher
A pen is a female swan..a pen-pusher would help with catching swans for marking (swan-upping)
