can anyone explain how one arrives at this answer?

The only way I can make this out is that women
may soon be ordained.i.e. proffessed.And that a priest is a club used to stun a fish or game bird e.t.c.(it administers the last rights)

Agree with priest as club/stunner. Anagram on sprite (are sprites not women)?

Thanks - I still feel there may be something missing. Perhaps time to shelve this and move on!
