The last few weeks' efforts have been much simpler than this week's & as a consequence I am in need of some assistance.

21A - Abhorrent to avoid the centre a lot (6)
I have ?A?F?L. The only thing that fits appears to be LAWFUL, but can't parse it.

The following all are intermingled :
53A - Native Greenlander perhaps accepting unconnected tips on basketball (7)
I???I?T (INBUILT?)
56A - Material beginning to solidify in spirits diluted with water (9)
G???G?A?N (GROSGRAIN?)
&
50D - As well for a bishop to go in and out (5)
T????

Any assistance welcomed.

I wouldn't swear to the accuracy of all the letters above cited.

56a yes Grosgrain - s(olidify) grog (spirits) + rain

50d taboo - defn out
too - as well as with a b(bishop) inside

50. taboo

53a yes - inuit with bl (outside letters of basketball) inside

re 21a I cannot see the definition at all. abhorrent = awful but apart from that ......

If the def. js "a lot" it could be hat (e) ful
