New to the cryptic and finding it very challenging.
40d - I lose them in order to become slim and supple (9) ?
56a Everyone dead by spring?Thats ok as far as it goes (3,4,4)
I had Lithesome for 40d and All gone well for 56 but not fitting, any help most appreciated.

56a all very well? well = spring

56a and "very" = "dead" as in "very good" = "dead good".

Many thanks sudoku lover and jazz girl, for such quick replies. Is it 'very' in 56a I was thinking another word for dead, hence 'gone'
