Hi Flipper2law,

LATE+RALLY - LATERALLY! I'm pleased to be able to assist you with that one because it seems that most of the other clues were answered last night...

Best wishes,

Caravaggio

Hope that helps

Chris

Many thanks. I found it last night after trawling a few dictionary web sites. It really goes to prove my point about horrific clues.

I've looked in here a few times but never contributed before.

I think the derivation of 6D is that "sandy" is "buff", as in the colour, with L(ost) inside.

I knew a manatee was a sea cow but I was racking my brains for how it came from dinghy carrying each... then I discovered that a scow is a flat-bottomed boat.

I only got the RT yesterday and, if I finish the crossword at all, it usually takes me a few days.

chris4food. Re RT9. Shouldn't 8 across be turnstile?

Yes, it is "turnstile". Being from Manchester, Don, you may be well used to going through them at United (or City). Style is something I haven't got and, of course, you will know that Styal is women's prison.

I've finished it off but, as usual, will not be sending it off. I've got fed up of not winning!
