Just cannot get as my last clue 8 down

Clue and any letters please?

Sorry--I do not now have access to the clue.
It is two words, and I think the definition is 'band'
t?e?d?a? is the first word and it is probably Tuesday.
The second word is g?e?s?n?

8. Band consumes starter of seven fresh sardines after American condiment:

Russian Dressing.

"Ring" (band) consumes "S" (start of seven) + anagram (fresh) of "sardines" after "US".
