Mornin' all. I did not do well at all yesterday, had to use the Quick Solve a few times. Here's what I'm left with:

Old J-Japanese electronics firm's northern event = occasion. What's with 'J-Japanese' and why does it mean 'c'?

Immigration rate in November if depression's about = inflow. I'm assuming depression = low. Just can't see the exact make up of 'inf'.

Habitual drinker entertains new Welsh fan. W-N-O-. I'm thinking wanton? Can't see the logic though.

Many thanks.

Pooksahib,
You asked for an explanation. This is how I got there.

Habitual drinker = WINO
New = N
Welsh = W

To winnow = to blow or to fan
