I see and understand - wonder why it works for some and not others.

No luck here either but at least the grids are symmetrical so confirming the bracketed clue numbers refer to grid entry length. Thanks mamya.

Finding this one tricky, to say the least. Can anyone help with 21a (right side), which needs the letter added? ....with children outside foreign capital (5): *I*e*.

And another from me: 3d (right side), needs a letter added: ".....having curved junction, mate." *o*e*. Grateful for any help.

I did think of that, but I can't quite work it out. Still stuck on21a (right) -see earlier post.

I was assuming that "wed" was supposed to mean "mate" (as a verb), but I now see "bo" can also refer to a mate (as noun) ! Then "wed" mght posibly, I suppose, have something to do with junction=union=marriage --- what do you think?

3 (right, 25 (left) and 21 (right) - the ones I am stumped on - need to have an A, Y and Z incorporated, by my workings. Do others agree?

Just got it! 3 is 'covey' (it is not defined in the clue).

I need to revise 17 (left). Is it connected with Virginia Wolff?
