Well, having no papers today, I am reduced to doing this and I have two left.

1D - A Catalan whore. (7) - B?G?S??
13A - Adjacent to the Scots. (9) - ??A?G?I?E

The last letter of 1D is also the first letter of 13A which may help. Also the I in 13A comes from the first letter of ICONOLOGY which could equally be a P from PHOTOLOGY.

Please excuse me if I don't reply for a few hours, we are just leaving for Film Club which is showing The Draughtsman's Contract tonight.

The film was dreadful. As soon as it started I remembered I had seen it in the early 80's when I worked at STV and and it hasn't got any better in the intervening 25 years! Last month we had a Mongolian film called The Weeping Camel followed by Some Like It Hot, both of which were excellent and next month is an Italian film Cinema Paradiso which sounds very good. However I guess there has to be the occasional bad one in the pile.
