Hints please stuck on last few.
18d Boring article in review by editor provided a reference. I have ALLUDED and it seems to work but doesn't seem to fit with
21A Prince joins Queen in with dance - it appears out of order. I thought UNEQUAL but don't like it because that screws up
20 D Sound record secured by graduate raised self assurance (6)
As for
26A Speaker's trounced a second-rater (4) I'm totally thick. I've a feeling when i get there will be a Bart Simpson like expostulation

ALLUDED is correct (DULL up in A ED), so think again about "unequal". Think films, perhaps.
20 standard crossword abbreviations, but also upwards.
26 "sounds like" "trounced a"

Thanks Chris for that. Its given me a route to think on. I've not actually said "Doh!" yet but I will!! Thanks for the link as well. I'd not known of it.
