is anyone aware of a word meaning "search" for 34 across, the letters I have are A_E_T, assuming that 26 down for which we have "examine" is right

What's the clue and is it the A or the E that could be wrong.

If you want to give the answers to people who don't give the clue, could you post the clue with the answer so that the rest of us aren't left in the dark grinding our teeth?

On 35 down, "Four-letter word", you say it begins with T. What is your answer?

geetee: It does begin with T and, if you complete the other four clues, the checking letters will give you a good idea what answer is...

35 down is TETRAGRAM (four letter word)
I'd also put Examine instead of investigate! So was stuck with one more 'impossible' clue to crack...but thanks for solving QUEST for me!!
