For the first one try 'soft (or loud) pedal'. For the second 'flambe'.

Hi Matty, could the third one be 'epitomizing' ?

The definition of upholstery includes curtains, so it could be muslin

There are three fabrics that fit!
dupion - a coarse silk
hurden - a coarse linen
muslin - cotton
But they don't sound to be synthetic!

I'll be interested to know the answer.

Thanks marnie but it has to be MUSLIN as i got another letter which was an L which rules out the other two.

If the "U" is incorrect then "Dralon" would be a much better answer - it's synthetic and used in upholstery. Dave
