14ac,American cigarette end with prime tar rating (5) A?U?E
29ac,Scowling schoolboy (6) ?E?T?E

Letters correct as far as I can see. TIA

Might 14 be ABUSE?

"Prime tar " might be AB (Able-bodied seaman), then US (American) and cigarettE end, to mean "Rating".

A bit of a long shot!
