Not doing very well at all this week! Have got 15a, 22a, 22d, 23d, and 27a (I think). Any help welcome.

Throw a clue in and we will try.

15A Try an anagram- mongrel means mixed up- definition = whined

22a 'Reportedly' means sounds like.

Thank you all for your help, I've misled you - I have definitely got 15a, 22d, 22a, 23d, and believe I've got 27a - the name of a drink and a type of bean, meaning 'bootlegger'. Any clues as to any others would be most welcome. I've put something in for 1a and 14d, but I don't think they are correct - I can't parse them and have none of the checked letters.

Many thanks, Mamya. What I'd put in for 14d was completely wrong, but thanks to you is now definitely right. What I'd put in for 1a fits in with what you've said, but am still not sure if it's right. It's an action word beginning with 'k', plus a word meaning 'beginning' starting with an 's' - meaning 'should get you going'. Does this fit in with what you've got?
