Well, that was one of the easiest Prize xwords ever. I just got onto the right gear.

So far I'm just finding it irritatingly repetitive - very clever, I know, but I wish they wouldn't do this.

I've put ROUND TRIP. The def. fits, and TRIP might be "caper", but what's the "no end of rough"?
Also, could anyone give a hint for 1d Applied for protection, with no end of trouble (4)
