'Squab' means a 'short fat person', doesn't it? but beyond that, I'm stuck!

Change last letter of SQUAD (team) to B (Bowled)

Didn't do this one but it looks like:

13d Short, fat person bowled instead of tail-ender in team (5)

team = SQUAD
tail-ender of SQUAD = D
bowled = B
Put B instead of D = SQUAB = short, fat person

Thank you all for your help. Never thought of squad as a word for team!

Squab is also a word for a young pigeon.

I agree with mags that "squad" isn't the same as "team". For instance, the England rugby squad has about 35 players, the matchday selection has 23 (including the subs), and the team has 15.
