I'd be grateful for corrections to or constructions for a couple of my guesses
in this puzzle:

10 Like some exercise a fine old boy has got into (7) -
A_R_B_C = AEROBIC?

41 Supporter of leading singer, say, when original record comes out (10) -
_A_N_A_N_R = MAINTAINER?

Hi everyone,
Singer say = entertainer; removing the original record, enter as a synonym of record and the origin of entertainer?

Thanks to all who responded. The suggested constructions are convincing enough, though I'm not enamored of the groan inducing pun in 41. Given my faltering performance today I hope Dean Mayer will be in kindly mood if he's on duty in the Sunday Times tomorrow.

Ciao.

Well done, ginge. You have finally cracked the clue.
It has been bugging me for ages but I could not get further than merryphil's "main tenor" but that, to me, didn't really sound like "maintainer". Neither did it allow for the last bit of the clue - "when original record comes out" - that was the bit that I couldn't get my head round!
And "main trainer" was a bit of a red herring.
So well done again!
These compilers are getting ever more devious!

European - from France. It's 'rope' (of onions) inside Euan (which I think is an Irish name).

Eu rope an.
