Hi,

New to this forum. I'm trying to solve a crossword puzzle for a letterbox clue. It's what I call a round-word puzzle. Don't know if that's a real term, but it seems to fit.

The puzzle has concentric circles, both in an inner and an outer track. Every answer has 7 letters. and shares 2 letters with its side neighbor, and 1 letter with its neighbor on the other track.

Don't know if I can post a link here, but this is the puzzle:

So...I'm really stuck on three answers. Thought I'd give this forum a try with one.

Clue: Like an 8 ball (#1 7 letters)
Answer: ? era ?

SInce the answer is circular, it could start anywhere, so for example
? era ? ? ?
? ? era ? ?

you get the idea.

And like regular crossword puzzles, the answer could be 1 or multiple words.

If the answer ends up having these letters:
prera or
onera
(again starting anywhere), it would validate the answer I got for a neighboring circle.

Thanks,
Susie

Stab in the dark! 8 ball/eightball is sometimes known as spots and stripes equally it is known as Highs and Lows,so therefore my thinking is that the answer could be Overall as its the last ball for either player and has the highest number?Like i said its a shot in the dark.

Just a thought.
Spheric is 7 letters but doesn't have the 'a' in it.

Well...I'll tell you the answer I think the neighboring circle is.

#2 In the following, "she" and "brew" are each an example: Annie enjoys Baltic Thunder beer. She believes there is a secret sauce in the brew.

I think the answer to that is PRONOUN.

Which would mean the 8 ball answer, in addition to the ERA, would also have to share two letters with pronoun.

The first answer I had down was RACKONE. That would work great if there really was an expression, "Rack one like an 8 ball" but I think I'm just making something up that will fit.
