'Actor on edge (not quite) about some gammon.' (7)
I have B_G_R_E

....so.... I must be thinking of the wrong actor and/or have some of the letters wrong - but I can't see what I'm doing wrong! all the other answers i have seem pretty watertight (anagrams etc).
BOAR + G ??
But what about the T which I presume comes after the R? And then why the extra E?!

I presume it's another edge that I should be thinking of, as mentioned in a previous thread - but I can't think what that should be.

Oh dear!
I'd love another nudge towards enlightenment (or even straightforward parsing at this stage!) . Thanks!

For the record, I agree with chrise in one of the other threads about the extra (?) E at the end of the C answer!

However - thank you Araucaria once again for great enjoyment!

Good one, ChrisE. You probably nailed it.

I just went with what Margaret already had, but "gammon" doesn't really translate as "boar".
I hate clues that use "some". How much "some"?
And then "BORDER" is used as an anagram for a synonym:
