This leaf is used in middle eastern cooking like wrapping paper to make edible food parcels.

If aristo means "vine-leaf" he is right - look up "dolmades". (Google divides between "vine leaves" and "grape leaves", but in England I have only come across the former term.)

Must be a pond thing. The Middle-Easterners I know make what they call stuffed grape leaves. But vine means grape after all.

I was basically agreeing with you, aristo!

Difficult to decide on the answer required without more information.

I think I'll make some! I suppose my Concord grapes would be OK.

Actually, one could argue that the plant is a vine, while the fruit is a grape, so "vine leaves" is more accurate - this wouldn't work for strawberry etc. though! (Strawberry leaves are used in the symbol for one of our levels of aristocracy - is it dukes?)
