Why oh why is the answer stout hearted?? Please help to parse!

valiant is stout-hearted, and within (at the heart of) godFATher is fat (a synonym for stout)

then, 0 use = no use.

I think it might be public house = local
people = public
first = outset. If you take the "t's" (being unhelpful!) out of outset and add the h from horrible.

It's not quite there but I hope you get my drift.
