Hi, have struggled manfully with this and am flummoxed by the last few clues. Any hints appreciated as I've spent hours trying to figure them out:

4d Sat on a wide step (7) _S_R_D_
30a Either of two on the second day? (6,4) _U_T_E_O_E
56d Connect nothing to end of truck (4) L_N_

Also, 41a is Light tractor chugging round (5). I have T_R_H so figure it must be TORAH as I can't think of another word that would fit, but don't understand why.

41a could be torch - light

Here's some hints.

4D Sat on = A + a synonym for "wide step"

30A Think of "The Twelve Days of Christmas".

56D Connect = a synonym for nothing written backwards (up) + end of truc(K).

41A The word is hidden in the clue and means "light".
