I found this crossword a bit of a grind and did not enjoy it one bit. However, can anyone confirm that I have the correct ORIGINAL answers to 8Dn - UNITER and 9Dn - TEASERS.

I agree with your comments - no good feelings about it. I have the same as you for the originals of 8D & 9D but not really satisfied with my reading of the clues. I have one remaining clue to do: 27A - any hints?

Yes, I have those 2 answers as well. I was less than completely happy with UNITER (but because the 5-letter substituted coin name is pretty clear, it makes no difference to the overall answer anyway).

Could you give me a hint for 21 down?

wordplay - obsolete word for "use" following something which a sleeve generally covers. Extra word = inwrought

Not enamoured of this one at all, but almost finished.

Can anyone enlighten me on 29A? I can only find one word that includes a coin (Flemish) and that doesn't square with the only currency (Scottish) that fits in & appears in a word in the clue.
