I've all but 2 of the clue answers (6 down and 20 across), but don't understand what the theme is.

The two answers you're missing are also to be treated thematically. Since you have all but these two, you must see how the 3rd thematically treated answer goes into the grid, and therefore how it relates to the puzzle's title.

The title to this puzzle is very helpful for a change in terms of what to do with the thematic entries
