I have accord, but can't parse it. Any explanations welcome.

I have two spellings of answer (change in first letter) which is correct?

I didn't know there was any other spelling except shanty.

I believe chanty is also acceptable

It rings a faint bell, but I've not come across it as an alternative in use. There is no way to determine actual letters from the clue, so I've gone for the usual version. Mind you, Everyman's solutions are sometimes rather quirky!
