Uncle w - your extra letters to 31Ac and 7Dn are wrong. For 10Dn just make an anagram without N. For 18Dn use a prefix then a word for whale and finally M.
Thanks once again unclued for you help. Now have the name and the two word phrase. Also where the highlighting is reqd. Still working on ambiguities in 11a,35a and 22d. Difficult with all the sport currently on the tele! Cheers!
Hi, new to the listener and this my first shot. Have theme and almost all grid, but cannot twig 25d maybe have 33ac wrong. Also struggling with 9d.
Please can someone help?
Finished today's yesterday, so despite false start not too discouraged.

Cagey For 9Dn hesitation = um. Then look for an anagram + u. For 26Dn see = c and foci refers to the middle of words. Hope that helps. I'm new to this crossword and find that they are becoming easier as the weeks go by - stick with it.
Hi. unclued, I'm here again. I'm being very obtuse or perhaps my concentration is too much on the golf and cricket ! I'm confident I have all the clue answers (confirmed by your hints) but my answers for 11a, 35a and22d are still giving me problems. Unchecked letters for 11a are L and I, for 35a are O and K and for 22d are E and L. Are these correct ? Cheers !
All done now thank you very much. Had e and m wrong way around for 12a and had wrong spelling of south African go away. No a, 2 os. A pest, but my own lack of care at fault. Thank you again.

Uncle - you have 11Ac wrong. 4Dn is entered RLIT to fit the theme. The two unchecked letters in 11Ac are both I. Have you googled the theme phrase to find the property of the jumbles?
Thanks for your patience unclued it must be the hot weather !! Carelessly I had entered 4d as 'RILT' instead of 'RLIT'. Also had not realised the appropriateness of the 2 word phrase as applied to 38a , so that is now OK but still trying to apply it to 22d. Thanks again.
