Transformative device suggesting a twist of logic? (9,4)
I?D?C?I?N ?O?L
I have induction coil, but can't work out why!
Any explanations very welcome.

A bit feeble, but perhaps an anagram of LOGIC without the "g". My word that IS feeble... don't know whether the febrility is mine or the clue setters...

Plus L is the unit of Inductance, so indeed an "anagram"with twist being the anagrind and synonym of coil.
