If 12d is senescent, then what is 17ac? I have reinstate for the clue "take back" and the letter e would be where the letter s is in senescent.

For what it's worth, I worked the jumbo fairly quickly but this little one is giving me fits. I also need 16dn, "water heater". I have ?a?t?e --- anyone please??? Thanks.

ok...got it now. Instead of "reinstate" it was "repossess", so "senescent" then worked as did the rest of it!
