24d: System of measures used in city of Paris with cube (4,6)

I know the answer is Troy Weight but since when has a cube had 8 sides? I can only think that it includes the Inside & Outside! Please someone tell me I'm wrong

Weight = w (with) + eight ( 2 cubed).

Thanks ginge, now I know, I thought that my theory was a bit far-fetched it was an old trick question that we used to try and and catch out our maths teachers at school, it worked occasionally!
