The only thoughts I have had are May pole ?
A minuet is a slow dance, but I cant justify joining the two together (is the minuet really balletic)

bit of a guess - The Blue Danube ? (waltz) - there is a flower called blue danube

Good thinking, much more likely than the way my thoughts led me.
