37 a - small mammal - (5 letters)

37 a mouse?

If it's a crossie and these are the last two, we'd really require a few letters. Could be BAD and MOUSE but there are many 5-letter small mammals.

I have shrew for 37 across but haven't worked out adverse yet I have I?? But can't get it
