mardoc currant is another idea & I will look into it, I had also thought French ? or modern ?

re mardoc's idea - current something. Au courant is up to date in French - There is a shrub called Alpine Currant...bit of a wild guess and cant see the entire parsing

I think that ther is a thing called French currant

Have looked both up on google chrisg & roddy & must admit both answers look good but do't think Paris is near the Alps not that my geography is very good.
