An anagram of O A Q U T R E===sporting equipment ?

There's a piece of gym equipment called Equator, but that's the name of the Company manufacturing it.

I'll get my coat ..... ;)

Was the O part of the anagram ?

Is it one word because I can only see Equator & Quorate and non are sporting, if you change your 'A' for a 'C' you could have 'CROQUET'
is there a possible mistake with the puzzle

I thought the O might be a C, hence racquet.

re the ''O''---(1st letter of 3 letter word)
the clue was that it wanted a 3 letter word which would link with each of these 3 words---
Belt, Shaft, & River
for some reason I put OFF, but think thats probably wrong ! maybe its Cam, therefore giving
RACQUET.
So thanks all, the answer must be RACQUET
(after all it is the tennis season !
