Thanks Ixion for an interesting word to ponder,My vote goes to Aristophanes@22,difficult decision as there are so many decent clues to choose from,in the end it was the vision created by that clue that swung me.

I'm going for emrach #17 , mostly because I also saw that anagram but for the life of me could not get it to run into a smooth surface reading .
