I so agree about not killing things to find out what they are. The only specimen of the keeled orthetrum (a dragonfly) ever found in Wester Ross (Scots county) is in a museum in Edinburgh because of me and I'm still sorry I killed it decades later.

Oh I do do sympathise, rosalind. There's nothing you can do about it now (like a dropped ice-cream cone, if you get the "Peanuts" reference)
