Apparently achieved a sporting feat at the beginning of May 2013. What was this?

It is the name of an irish racehorse, a 100/1 winner of an evening race at Cheltenham on 1st May 2013, but this is hardly unique.

Still struggling to find information on this infamous Charles Bruce other than being a racehorse. Has anyone heard of him or it?

Someone of that name ( not the horse!) climbed Everest, but that was long before 2013.
I expect you've found that on Google anyway.

Because this sporting feat occurred this very month, its amazing that Google is not coming up with anything!
