Quite obviously DIGITS - anybody got a parse for me please.

I read this to mean 'fingers' minus the 3rd letter sounds like figures - hence digits

ah, well no disrespect to the elderly gentleman setter, I feel that is poor - thank you for your input.

But I was a little confused by 7d - Dormice with heart reduced cooked in country's blood suppliers (9,6)
I got the answer as Endocrine glands but the only way that I could parse it was by interpreting 'with heart reduced' meaning reducing the Dormice's M to an N, and putting the resultant anagram inside "England's"? Is that it?

Digitalis missing ali a third? otherwise stumped,but easiest Prize of all time I think.
