For anyone seeking a puzzle that's easily solvable, less complicated but far more original & fun than those that try so hard to impress & confound, I recommend today's offering by Chifonie: the kind of unpretentious but satisfying puzzle not achieved by other setters, including on this paper............

It's interesting how tastes differ. I found this ok. A lot better than Rufus on Monday but it had no aha moments for me. I take your point about the difficulty level and encouraging beginners. It was neat and very fairly clued. For my money Qaos is the best setter of this type of puzzle.

I'm more of an Araucaria, Arachne, Shed and Paul fan overall.
