Can anybody tell me what do the letters under the fixtures on the bbc football web site mean?

On a forum last year somebody asked
“Right hand side near the top where it lists tonight’s premier league fixtures - what do the letters underneath these fixtures mean? been trying to figure it out for the last 15 mins!!”

And got the reply
Under aston villa v QPR theres an R
Blackburn v Newcastle theres an e

Its just the last letter of the away team repeated for some reason

Everton FulhaM
FT
Southampton West BroM
FT
Stoke NorwicH
FT
Wigan TottenhaM

Which may account for all the MMMs and an H?
