This is a real difficult puzzle !
But will give you below the other words that are supposed to it.

*Now 2nd letter is also last letter for a clue ==Bell Pepper (8)-- (I thought CAPSICUM == 'm'
or PIPERINE=='e'
*4th letter is also 1st letter for a clue ==Mellow (8)
*6th letter is also last letter for a clue==
Instructive (8)---I thought DIDACTIC =='c'
**Piperine & Didactive seem to be possibly right because the word which crosses the 2nd letter of each clue==2piece swimsuit ==Bikini & shouldnt think that can be wrong ! ! !
